LAMB #1381 – Head In A Vice

This is just a quick post to say I’m now a proud member of ‘The Large Association of Movie Blogs‘ (LAMB!). I know a lot of you are members already, so I look forward to seeing you on the forums over there, and hopefully I can bring in some new readers for my site. Each new applicant has to fill in a short questionnaire, and here are my answers if anyone is interested.

What is the main focus of your site?

I want to try and offer reviews on some of the more obscure horror and violent films in the attempt of unearthing some hidden gems for people. I also run a few projects to try and give my site a community style vibe, including my attempt to offer a review for all the IMDB’s Top 250 Films with the help of some awesome Guest Contributors, and my Desert Island Films project where people tell me the films they would take if they were going to be marooned on a desert island.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?

Meeting and chatting with cool, like-minded people has been my highlight so far (well, having movie stars visit my site and chat with me on twitter is about equal!) and if I continue to meet people and highlight some films they may not necessarily know about otherwise, then anything more than this would be a bonus. I just love watching films and writing about them, so knowing that someone is reading makes it all worthwhile.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?

Definitely interactive, and that’s why I set up the projects I did, to try and encourage my community to get involved and to try and get to know the people that visit my site a little better.

How long has this site been active for, and how frequently do you post updates to your site?

Just over 3 months old at the time of writing this. I post 5-7 articles a week, sometimes more.

How did hear about the LAMB? If it was a LAMB, do you recall which one?

Tom from At The Back Films first gave me details on the LAMB. Since then I have seen so many people with your logo and I knew this was somewhere I really wanted to try and get involved with. A place full of people who write movie blogs and love films? Sounds like heaven 🙂

If any member has any tips or tricks they would like to share, such as can anyone get the official LAMB twitter to re-tweet our stuff, or promote our features as I’ve seen it do for other people (Mark for instance, I saw them promote your awesome conversations) please let me know.

For anyone that isn’t a member and runs a movie blog, it seems a cool place to be and maybe you should consider signing up too! After all, we are all aiming to find like-minded people to check out our stuff and maybe point us in the direction of something new, right?
