Keith from Raisin Cookie has kindly submitted his Desert Island Films. Read on for his choices and reasons, and be sure to check out his site.
*************************************************************************************************
Desert Island Films is about choosing 8 films you would take if you were going to be stranded on a desert island and explaining your choices. They don’t necessarily have to be your favourites, just 8 films, no more or no less! You are also permitted to take one book and one novelty item which must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside.

Raisin Cookie – Desert Island Films
The Prestige.
This is one of those rare movies that, the more I watch it, the better it gets.
Cool as Ice.
An absolutely awful movie, with terrible acting, silly dialogue, and starring Vanilla Ice, and yet it is also one of the most entertaining and (unintentionally) hilarious movies I have ever seen.
10 Things I Hate About You.
Yes, it’s a chick flick, but for whatever reason, I love it. Also, I wouldn’t want to spend too long on the island and lose my ability to talk to girls once I escape.
Love Guru.
I’m a Canadian and love my hockey. I am also a major Toronto Maple Leaf fan. While this movie is terrible, at least watching it could allow me to actually witness the Leafs hoisting the Stanley Cup over and over again.
The Island.
Not only is it ironic to include a movie called The Island on a Desert Island list, this is just an outstanding movie, and is the best Michael Bay has ever made.
Princess Bride.
Just because I can quote every line, doesn’t mean I don’t want to watch this movie over and over again.
Expendables 2.
Mindless action, lots of explosions and the all-star cast of Masculinity. How could I be on a Desert Island and NOT include a movie that has Norris, Arnold and Stallone?
50/50.
Perfect blend of humour, drama and emotion. Watching a movie about a guy dealing with cancer would also help me keep everything in perspective.
Book
Les Miserables. Already read it once, but it was fantastic. Being stuck on an island would be the perfect excuse to read it over and over again.
Luxury Item
Duct Tape. It has endless amounts of uses.

/ January 5, 2013My god, one of the most diverse lists I’ve seen thus far and that’s saying something. I agree about the Island and am glad to see 50/50, but I don’t think even if The Love Guru had the Seahawks winning the superbowl I’d be able to justify bringing it, lol

/ January 6, 2013I had no idea the Leafs won the Cup in the Love Guru.
If you’re gonna have one though, I’d think Slap Shot would have to take the hockey based slot on a dessert island list.
