Film and Things which I’ve been following for a while reviewed 13 Sins back in March. Also, Cibarra, whom I co-wrote a few movie reviews with on my blog, was intrigued by 13 Sin’s premise and suggested we check it out.

Eden Lake (2008)

movie blogathon poster

Once again I find that I am the inspiration for a fellow blogger, as today we are joined by Todd from Cinema Monolith. He is here to share his thoughts on a film he saw me review a while ago, a little British thriller named Eden Lake. It’s always a pleasure to get Todd involved on my site, and I know the feelings are more than mutual as these are words he actually said about me on his site:

Thank you, Tyson, and thank you for taking time out of your busy day to visit my humble blog. Oh, and Tyson…thank you for making me a better writer, an even better human being, and an overall wonderful guy.

Sure, it may be in a sarctastic manner, but that’s not the point. Anyway, after reading his review please be sure to stop by his site and abuse him a little.

The Collection (2012)

movie blogathon poster

Next up on my ‘Recommended By‘ blogathon is Anthony (or you probably better know him as atothewr) from A Zombie Movie For The Holidays. He was actually inspired (sort of) by my review of The Collection. Just as an aside….I actually like the movie much more now than I did when I reviewed it if anyone clicks the link to see my review. After the 3rd and 4th watch it really hit home in a more positive way. But this is Anthony’s time, so enough from me and here’s Anthony’s take on The Collection.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984)

movie blogathon poster

Stu from Popcorn Nights is next up in the ‘Recommended By‘ blogathon, as he checks out a movie which may or may not actually exist called The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. His recommendation came from Todd, but Stu gives him enough praise a little further on so I won’t swell Todd’s ego and promote him too much. Needless to say, thank you both for your input here, especially of course Stu for writing this fantastic piece. Everyone reading this should already be following both Stu & Todd’s sites, and if you’re not then please rectify that immediately. Well, read this review first of course. Enjoy!!

Lawless (2012)

movie blogathon poster

Kicking off the ‘Recommended By‘ blogathon today is my most favourite hillbilly friend Eric from The IPC. He decided to check out Lawless thanks to Zoe’s recommendation on her site The Sporadic Chronicles Of A Beginner Blogger, and here are his thoughts, in his own unique style of course!

Desert Island Classics: Where The Wild Things Are

Desert-Island-Classics

Whilst I eagerly await your blogathon entries (please feel free to join in, click HERE for details), I wanted to shine some light on my long running Desert Island Films series, and more importantly the people who joined in and made it so much fun to do. I am therefore randomly visiting the archives and re-posting a few of the lists with some added kind words. I present to you; Desert Island Classics…… You may have read all of the lists so far, but I hope you won’t mind seeing a few of them again, and who knows, you may even find some new blogs to read.

Today I think we should have another female castaway, so I want to welcome Abbi from Where The Wild Things AreYesterday she was proudly announced as the winner of my good friend Eric’s Shitfest Summer 2014 competition, and today it’s an even better day for her as she is featured on my site. 😉 Abbi is another reader here who is not necessarily a horror fan, so I’m always thrilled to see her stop by. She is easily one of the friendliest and most frequent commenters around, not just on my site but everyones site. Not that I’m saying she gets around…..just to clarify if she does that’s her business, lets keep things professional here……. So please, check out the movies Abbi took to her desert island, and then as always go check out her fantastic site for inspirational weight loss stories & her top 10 movie masterbation scenes. I’m not even making that up…….click the link if you don’t believe me 🙂

Desert Island Classics – Marked Movies

Desert-Island-Classics

Whilst I eagerly await your blogathon entries (please feel free to join in, click HERE for details), I wanted to shine some light on my long running Desert Island Films series, and more importantly the people who joined in and made it so much fun to do. I am therefore randomly visiting the archives and re-posting a few of the lists with some added kind words. I present to you; Desert Island Classics…… You may have read all of the lists so far, but I hope you won’t mind seeing a few of them again, and who knows, you may even find some new blogs to read.

Today I want to re-visit an angry Scottish island, with my good friend Mark Walker from Marked Movies. He is currently on a blogging hiatus, I believe this is due to the fact he is away angrily demonstrating something that Scotland and their people are unhappy about. Kind of like a mix between Braveheart & Doomsday (2008 movie where they quarantine Scotland), that’s how I see this political romp. So yeah, he is VERY passionate about it, and despite the England/Scotland divide between us, we actually quite like each other. Fuelled by our love for Drive, Mark also helped me form a Robert De Niro website that may get some more attention one day soon, and is a sounding board for all my crazy ideas. Plus he always says yes to them. From day 1 pretty much in my blogging career Mark has been supporting me, and for that I owe him much more than re-posting his Desert Island film choices. But that’s all I have so that’s all he gets, Plus my love, and the fact he is friends with my wife on Facebook so he could ruin me and give you all my real world details. Please enjoy his movie choices, and then of course be sure to check out his site if you don’t already follow him. A nicer man you could not wish to meet. 🙂
