Desert Island Classics: Where The Wild Things Are

Desert-Island-Classics

Whilst I eagerly await your blogathon entries (please feel free to join in, click HERE for details), I wanted to shine some light on my long running Desert Island Films series, and more importantly the people who joined in and made it so much fun to do. I am therefore randomly visiting the archives and re-posting a few of the lists with some added kind words. I present to you; Desert Island Classics…… You may have read all of the lists so far, but I hope you won’t mind seeing a few of them again, and who knows, you may even find some new blogs to read.

Today I think we should have another female castaway, so I want to welcome Abbi from Where The Wild Things AreYesterday she was proudly announced as the winner of my good friend Eric’s Shitfest Summer 2014 competition, and today it’s an even better day for her as she is featured on my site. 😉 Abbi is another reader here who is not necessarily a horror fan, so I’m always thrilled to see her stop by. She is easily one of the friendliest and most frequent commenters around, not just on my site but everyones site. Not that I’m saying she gets around…..just to clarify if she does that’s her business, lets keep things professional here……. So please, check out the movies Abbi took to her desert island, and then as always go check out her fantastic site for inspirational weight loss stories & her top 10 movie masterbation scenes. I’m not even making that up…….click the link if you don’t believe me 🙂

Desert Island Classics – Marked Movies

I present to you; Desert Island Classics…… You may have read all of the lists so far, but I hope you won’t mind seeing a few of them again, and who knows, you may even find some new blogs to read.

Today I want to re-visit an angry Scottish island, with my good friend Mark Walker from Marked Movies. He is currently on a blogging hiatus, I believe this is due to the fact he is away angrily demonstrating something that Scotland and their people are unhappy about. Kind of like a mix between Braveheart & Doomsday (2008 movie where they quarantine Scotland), that’s how I see this political romp. So yeah, he is VERY passionate about it, and despite the England/Scotland divide between us, we actually quite like each other. Fuelled by our love for Drive, Mark also helped me form a Robert De Niro website that may get some more attention one day soon, and is a sounding board for all my crazy ideas. Plus he always says yes to them. From day 1 pretty much in my blogging career Mark has been supporting me, and for that I owe him much more than re-posting his Desert Island film choices. But that’s all I have so that’s all he gets, Plus my love, and the fact he is friends with my wife on Facebook so he could ruin me and give you all my real world details. Please enjoy his movie choices, and then of course be sure to check out his site if you don’t already follow him. A nicer man you could not wish to meet. 🙂

Two people that have no interest in horror yet somehow found my blog are Marilyn & Garry Armstrong. It makes me so happy to see them both still visiting my blog and so today I want to share their lists with you again. Marilyn runs the site Serendipity where you can find her fantastic photography and a million and one other diverse posts all brilliant and unique. You can find Marilyn’s desert island films by clicking HERE but for now I’m going to show you Garry’s list. Whilst he doesn’t blog as such (he has been known to make a few posts now and again!) Garry was persuaded/pressured/forced into sharing his thoughts with me. Without trying to embarrass him too much, in his wife’s own words; Garry been on TV for 40 years. He’s a walking film encyclopedia and the lucky dog actually got to sit and talk to Cagney, Hepburn and The Duke, Black Edwards, William Holden …. kind of everyone.

So please sit back, check out Garry’s film choices (he picked more than 8, the man plays by his own rules!!) and read his stories. Then see Marilyns choices and of course sign up and follow her blog. You won’t regret it.

At number 16 on my list was everybody’s friend Fernando from Committed to Celluloid. I remember when we all posted our end of year stats which showed who commented the most on our blogs, and I’m pretty sure that on 99% of them Fernando was #1. Not only does he get around, he is one of the friendliest people out in the blogosphere, and of course is a damn fine writer. And massive Daniel Radcliffe fangirl. So please, show your love and respect to Fernando by checking out his fantastic site, and read on for the films he wanted to take to his island.
